Napoli’s sporting director, Giovanni Manna, travelled to London this week for talks with Chelsea over a deal for Romelu Lukaku, who has constantly been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge.
Lukaku spent the season at Roma last year and relatively impressed at the Italian side – but they opted to not keep him on a more permanent basis and he has been back at Stamford Bridge since his loan deal finished. There has been alot of speculation and rumours about where he could end up – with the likes of Napoli, Aston Villa and a number of Saudi Clubs all reportedly interested in taking him from the Blues by the end of the window.
Now it has been revealed that Napoli are very keen to get a deal done for the player – with Giovanni Manna travelling to London in order to try and get a deal done for the Belgian star.
It has also been claimed that Chelsea will demand £40 million for the powerhouse.
Lukkau has a high wage – CHELSEA are demanding alot of money for a player that has struggled to perform in the Premier League – that is probably the main reason why Lukaku has not left the club yet.
When the Blues manage to offload the powerhouse they will be able to bring in a new striker that will have an ability to score goals – Chelsea fans all have who they would love to see get signed – but Lukaku needs to go first.
Napoli would be a very good move for the striker to make as it seems that he plays his best football in Italian football – it will just be interesting to see if the Italians pay the big money that CHELSEA desire.
