Chelsea have reportedly accepted a bid of over £30m for striker Romelu Lukaku from Aston Villa.
Chelsea snapped up Lukaku from Inter Milan for £97m, but would now have to take a significantly lesser fee to sell the Belgian.Lukaku wants to leave Chelsea, and Chelsea want to sell Lukaku, but it’s still a bit complicated.
Napoli are keen on Lukaku, with Antonio Conte wanting to work with his former striker. However, this hasn’t stopped Aston Villa from attempting to hijack Antonio Conte’s move.
According to Italian newspaper Il Mattino, via TUTTOmercatoWEB, Aston Villa reached an agreement with Chelsea to sign Lukaku this week. However, there’s a key issue, as the Belgian only wants to reunite with Conte in Naples.
Per Corriere dello Sport, Lukaku is refusing to consider any other destination this summer as he waits for Napoli to set up a deal with Chelsea.
The 31-year-old Belgian is currently training individually, as he’s waiting to be fully fit for his reunion with Conte.
The Partenopei are still waiting to sell Osimhen and there’s been suggestions that he could head to Chelsea for a large lump sum and Lukaku, but Paris Saint-Germain are still considered the favourites for the time being for Victor Osimhen.
