Chelsea have reportedly just completed the business behind yet another summer signing for the club in this window.
It has by no means been a quiet summer for the Blues as they prepare for their third full season under the new ownership who took over in 2022.While the big-name signings may have not been made, it looks as if any addition has been brought in with the idea of bolstering Enzo Maresca’s style of play.
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is the top addition to the first team so far, with some of the most exciting business actually taking place with signings for the future.
One of those linked with the club during this summer transfer window is Gabriel Mec, who has been described as a ‘gem’ by Fabrizio Romano in the past.
It looks as if talk of him coming in to Stamford Bridge has come true. According to Immortal Radio, the deal has been closed between Chelsea and Gremio.
They said: “ATTENTION: GABRIEL MEC IS SOLD TO CHELSEA. Grêmio and the English club closed a deal this Sunday. The value, with triggers, exceeds 20 million euros.”
It has been no secret under the leadership of Todd Boehly that making investments that strengthen their future has been key in the thinking.
Even this summer, they have completed a deal to sign Estevao Willian, with there being huge excitement coming from Brazil about his potential.
Gabriel Mec likened to Neymar
There is also plenty of hype for Mec. He has previously been likened to Neymar in terms of the levels he can reach in the game.
With Kendry Paez another youngster already signed by the club, it is undeniable that the Blues will have one of the strongest young core’s in world football in just a couple of years’ time.
It will be interesting to see which of the current first team will still be in the squad at the time to join them.
