UPDATE: Player arrives London to complete Chelsea's medical

FC Basel star Renato Veiga is set to become the sixth player to join Chelsea in the summer transfer window after the two clubs came to a £12m agreement for the defender.

Tosin Adarabioyo, Estevao Willian, Marc Guiu, Omari Kellyman and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall as stars that have signed under Enzo Maresca so far this summer – as the board look to keep on improving the squad.

However – the Board are not stopping there and he 20-year-old is expected to sign a long-term contract that will see him stay at Stamford Bridge until 2032, a business tactic that has been employed time and time again since the arrival of American owner Todd Boehly and his Clearlake consortium.

With the medical already scheduled to take place in London, Veiga is expected to join in the coming days after Chelsea made a quick move to try and get a transfer deal done.

Look, the lad is very talented – that is for sure-  but what at Chelsea doing? They need to make some experienced signings this summer and not keeping adding talents to the side or they may be in fighting to stay in the Premier League next season.

CHELSEA fans must be worried about the direction of the club under Ted Boehy and CO. The club are not making the kind of signings that will help take the Blues up that Premier League title and challenging for that title.

This is not the MLS this is not an American sport – this is one of the best teams in the world in the best football League in the world signing players for big money for doing absolutely nothing in the game.
