Fabrizio Romano confirms Chelsea working to sign £38m star player

Chelsea are far from finished when it comes to making permanent signings in the current transfer window.

The Blues have completed deals for the likes of Tosin Adarabioyo and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, who look set to make their first appearance for the club tonight against Wrexham.

Coaches have been impressed by Adarabioyo in training already, and the fact he was brought in for free suggests he could be a real shroud bit of business.

It has been reported in recent days that a goalkeeper is high on the agenda now for the club to bring in this summer, and they have reportedly made their first move for one player in this role.

Filip Jorgensen impressed last season for Villarreal, and Fabrizio Romano has stated that the Blues have made their first real bid to sign him this summer.

He said: “EXCLUSIVE: Chelsea send first bid in the region of €20m to Villarreal for Filip Jorgensen!

“It follows talks on player side as revealed earlier this week; he’s on the list as potential new GK for Maresca. Jorgensen, keen on the move.”

It does feel as if this fee will not be enough for a deal to be complete. It has been claimed that the goalkeeper has a release clause in the region of £38m.

Doubts over Djordje Petrovic

It was reported that there are doubts over Djordje Petrovic’s ability to feature in a Enzo Maresca system, and it feels as if he could be available for the right price this summer.

This means that the current plan would be to start Robert Sanchez between the sticks, however supporters would likely be against that idea in the long-term.

A goalkeeper is no doubt high on the list for this reason, and Jorgensen has already shown plenty of promise in this position.

It remains to be seen how Villarreal react to this bid, although the fact he is keen on joining the club suggests that a move could well be on the cards.
