Chelsea turn attention to signing £35m star player for Enzo Maresca

Chelsea are reportedly looking to make a signing which follows in the footsteps of one of their most prosperous additions in recent windows.

The signing of Malo Gusto from France went under the radar for many, with him not joining up with the first team until last summer.

However, when thrown into the starting side in the face of another injury-hit season for Reece James, the youngster quickly proved to be a superb addition.

Malo Gusto of Chelsea acknowledges the fans after the team's victory in the Premier League match between Chelsea FC and West Ham United at Stamford...

ball up the pitch is something which really impressed those watching, and he will no doubt be competing for minutes with the club captain this season.

Now, it looks as if the club have recognised how impressive that signing was, and are looking to make one similar on the other side of the pitch.

Chelsea want to sign Milos Kerkez

Journalist Ben Jacobs has told the ‘London is Blue’ Podcast that they are looking to sign Milos Kerkez to fit that mold.

He said: “So with the young full-back – Milos Kerkez is still there, on the radar, and Manchester United and Arsenal are considering him as well.

“With Kerkez, he’s been at the Euros, he’s back now. Bournemouth don’t want to sell and they value him at over £35m. I do think that Chelsea are looking for somebody in that Malo Gusto would, but on the left side that can maybe come in the next two or three years.”

The Bournemouth defender enjoyed a very strong campaign last season, form he took into the European Championships this summer.

At the age of just 20, there is plenty of promise that Kerkez can emerge as a top defender in the coming years.

The Blues currently have Marc Cucurella featuring in that role, and he will feel as if the form he has shown for both club and country over the last few months is enough to see him start the season when the first game comes around against Manchester City.
