Teddy Sharman-Lowe will spend the upcoming season on loan at Doncaster Rovers after Chelsea confirmed the summer move.
The young goalkeeper, who recently signed a new deal to extend his Chelsea stay, will team up with Grant McCann’s side as they look to push for promotion from League Two.CHELSEA posted on the club website: ‘Rovers finished fifth last season before ending their campaign with defeat to Crewe Alexandra in the League Two play-offs.
‘Sharman-Lowe spent time on loan with Bromley in the National League last season before returning to Chelsea in January.
Good luck in Yorkshire, Teddy!’
Sherman-Lowe only agreed a new contract at Chelsea last season – they have big plans for the lad to one day break into that first team and challenge for that number one spit.
But for now, sending him out on loan to get some much needed game-time should help his development over the next 12 months. Doncaster are a decent side.
However – some fans may feel that keeping him at the Bridge and working with some of the very best coaches in the game would help his development more – especially with the league that Doncaster play in.
But at the end of the day – the lad is happy, CHELSEA are happy and Doncaster are happy – so fans will be hoping that this move will do the lad the world of good and he will come back in 23 months time a much better player.
But we are sure that this wont be the last deal we hear that a talent has been loaned out – the Blues have so many talents that will also want to get some game time elsewhere.
