Chelsea are likely to have a busy summer on the transfer front as they look to give Enzo Maresca the tools needed for a good start at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea are already up and running in terms of new signings, having snapped up Tosin Adarabioyo on a free transfer from Fulham.
Obviously it won’t all be smooth sailing, and there are bound to be players that the Blues will try to sign but fail to get on board.
Rodrygo of Real Madrid kisses the UEFA Champions League Trophy after his team's victory during the UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Final match betwee...
The outlet claims that Chelsea have previously approached the entourage of Real Madrid star Rodrygo Goes to understand the potential conditions of a deal.
However, the Blues have ‘not received positive feelings’ from the Brazilian’s camp, due to the fact they won’t be in the Champions League next term.
Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain are also said to be in pursuit of Rodrygo, but Real are apparently unwilling to consider offers for a potential sale.
Chelsea and other suitors unlikely to land Rodrygo Goes this summer
Rodrygo joined Real Madrid from Brazilian giants Santos in 2019 for a reported £40.5million.
Jair Ventura, who coached Rodrygo at Santos, previously told Marca that his former student “would be one of the greats” in future.
Although he was a regular in Carlo Ancelotti’s starting XI last season, the arrivals of Kylian Mbappe and Endrick could see him fall down the pecking order.
Despite this, Rodrygo recently outlined his desire to stay at Real Madrid despite the reinforcements in attack that will arrive at the Bernabeu this summer.
Prior reports have valued the 23-year-old at around £102million, but if neither club nor player want to go, then that pretty much settles it for the summer.
However, it’s good to see that Chelsea are targeting some of the world’s best talents. It shows their desire and ambition to get back to the top table after two difficult seasons.
