Chelsea fans are happy as board makes decision about paying £50.7m for the signing of a world-class player

Fabrizio Romano states that the Chelsea have made a decision about possibly signing Nico Williams over the course of the summer window.

CHELSEA have already been busy this transfer window and have added Toby Adarabioy and Estevao Willian to the side – although the Brazilian will not be coming to Stamford Bridge until 2025 because he is only 17-years of age.

But the board are expected to keep on spending over the next few months – and have been linked with a move for the impressive Nico Williams – who is now regarded as one of the most  exciting young attackers in the game and a player that has been tipped for a big move.

But despite all the transfer reports that Chelsea are very keen to get a deal done for the star – Romano has come out and claimed that the Blues do not intend to pay the kind of fee it would take to land the Spaniard.

Speaking on the Daily Briefing, Romano said: ““What I’m told now, is that although the appreciation remains, Chelsea are not advancing on Williams, because of the cost of the deal. He has a €58m release clause but also an important salary – he’s already earning important money at Athletic Bilbao and Chelsea believe his demands are very big.

“Williams was also on the list at Bayern, though they’re now signing Olise, while there’s also been strong interest from Barcelona. Arsenal and Liverpool have also been following the situation, but there’s still nothing advanced.

“We’ll see what happens after the Euros, because he’s doing fantastic for Spain and so maybe some of these clubs will decide to go strong on this one.”

The players that CHELSEA have been linked too recently are not ready-made stars that could have an impact on the side – but Williams is a star that fans would be very happy about arriving this summer.

It will be a shame if Chelsea do not make a move for the lad that is for sure.
