Attacker announces that he's joining Chelsea at Stamford Bridge

With the Catalan media still digesting the fact that Marc Guiu chose to leave Barcelona for Chelsea, Sport today share a story with some details about the move.

Since the whole operation is happening very quickly, they tried to find out whether the youngster had told his teammates he’d be leaving for the London side.

It’s said that Guiu never spoke to the whole squad about the transfer. What he did was to reveal his departure to his most intimate circle, but never mentioning Chelsea.

That’s why many of his friends thought he was going to Sevilla, who were also interested in signing him, but on a loan deal.

The teammates then had a ‘surprise’ when finding out in the media that Chelsea would be triggering his release clause.

It seems Barcelona are still to believe that the player is turning down their renewal offer to move to Stamford Bridge instead. Sport highlights that the player had always shown some ‘love’ for the Catalan club, where he’s been for many years.

Not giving them a chance for long negotiations, his departure is taking place a lot quicker than they could ever imagine.
