Transfer decision made as Chelsea ready to get £75m deal done

Chelsea have made the decision that they will not be looking to keep Kepa now that his loan with Real Madrid is done.

At the beginning of the season Real Madrid made the shock decision to take Kepa to the Bernabeu on a season long loan after Thaibut Courtois picked up a serious injury which kept him out of action for most of the season.

The Spaniard had some decent performances for the La Liga Champions throughout the season – but he lost his spot between the sticks to Andriy Lunin and the will be coming back to Stamford Bridge this summer.

However – the Daily express have reported that he is just one of a number of players that Chelsea are looking to cash in on over the transfer window as they seek to raise some funds to buy their top targets.

The Financial Fair Play rules means that clubs have to be careful in the transfer window and will only be able to spend what the can afford – which should see alot of the top clubs getting rid of their fringe players.

Kepa recently revealed he would like to stay at Madrid on a permanent deal, telling Spanish TV, as quoted by Fabrizio Romano: Of course I’d love to stay at Real Madrid in the future.

‘Who doesn’t want to stay at this club? I’m very, very happy here.’

Kepa has also spoken about the decision to leave CHELSEA in the summer: ‘The loan to Madrid was very quick,’ Kepa told AS. ‘Everything was sealed in a few hours, with just two phone calls.
