Thierry Henry names Pochettino's replacement at Stamford Bridge who can handle Man City

Chelsea manager latest as Thierry Henry opens up on Simone Inzaghi after the Inter Milan manager was named as one possible replacement for Mauricio Pochettino at Stamford Bridge

Arsenal icon Thierry Henry has waxed lyrical about Chelsea-linked manager Simone Inzaghi amid speculation over Mauricio Pochettino at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea have endured a challenging season despite splashing out around £1billion since Todd Boehly completed his takeover in May 2022.

Pochettino's side are languishing in 11th place in the Premier League with 12 matches to play. However, they could leapfrog Brighton into ninth position if they win their game in hand.

Chelsea were beaten in the Carabao Cup showpiece by Liverpool and did not compete in Europe this season, but remain in with a shout of silverware after progressing through to the FA Cup quarter-finals. Pochettino, though, is coming under increasing pressure.

Several names - including Inzaghi - have been linked with replacing the Argentine if Chelsea decide to sack him and Henry provided insight on what the Blues would get. The ex-Arsenal superstar chatted about Inter Milan's manager during an appearance on Sky Sports show Monday Night Football.

Henry, 46, said: "Inzaghi. I've been following Inzaghi for a very long time, since his Lazio days. He was at one point known as a guy that, if you meet him in a cup game, you're in trouble, as we saw with Manchester City struggling against Inter in that Champions League final with their 3-5-2."

Henry continued: "What I like with Inzaghi is that he plays with two centre forwards.

"If you are Arsenal or Man City, you have the ball so much sometimes they play as a 3-7. If you're not in possession as much, transition will happen. Especially if you play against a team that plays with wingers high and wide, then it becomes really tough. I like the way the 5-3-2 looks."
