Mikel Obi confirms Victor Osimhen will join Chelsea this summer

Former Chelsea player Mikel John Obi says Victor Osimhen really likes Chelsea and wants to join them this summer. Chelsea wants to sign a new forward, and Osimhen is their top choice. He confirmed he’s leaving Napoli at the end of the season.

Osimhen has a £113 million release clause in his contract. Paris Saint-Germain also wants him, but Mikel is trying to persuade him that Chelsea is the better option.

Mikel said, “I think he really likes the club and wants to come here. He wants to follow in the footsteps of Nigerian players like Victor Moses and Celestine Babayaro who played for Chelsea.”

Mikel joked, “I’m still Osimhen’s agent, trying to get him to Chelsea! I hope it works out because I’ll get a cut from the deal!”

But Osimhen has interest from other clubs like Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United. Mikel is still pushing him to choose Chelsea.

Osimhen has been one of Europe’s best strikers during his time at Napoli, scoring 72 goals in 122 games.

Mikel said, “We need a striker who can score goals. That’s what Victor will bring. He might not be the most skilled player, but he guarantees goals. If he can score 20 or 25 goals a season like Erling Haaland, that would be great for us. He’s not about fancy plays, just put the ball in the box, and he’ll finish it.
