Chelsea are considering other options instead of Victor Osimhen, who could be on the move this summer. The striker is now squarely on Paris Saint-Germain’s radar to fill in for Kylian Mbappé.
The Parisians are exploring other options to replace the 25-year-old, who will reportedly leave in June when his contract ends. Mbappé is likely to sign with Real Madrid as a free agent, so PSG must fill his shoes somehow.According to The Standard, PSG’s interest in Napoli’s Osimhen has resulted in Chelsea looking at Brentford’s Ivan Toney and Brighton’s Evan Ferguson as options for the striker role.
Sporting advisor Luis Campos spearheads PSG’s pursuit of the Nigerian goal scorer. PSG presents a significant challenge to Chelsea for the 25-year-old. The Ligue 1 side boasts the capability to offer Osimhen higher wages. Should he leave this summer, the Napoli star will likely demand a minimum of £250,000 per week.
Osimhen and Napoli both expect the £113 million release clause to be activated in the summer. Furthermore, with the departure of the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner, the Parisians will save around €200 million that they can invest back into the squad.
As a result, the capital club will have deep pockets to spend to ensure they can compensate for Mbappé’s departure.
