This summer could be another hugely important one for Chelsea Football Club, particularly if they end up finishing in the European places by the end of the 2023/24 campaign.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side are starting to get the results that their performances have deserved, and whilst there have still been instances – Wolves and Liverpool for example – where they’ve been well beaten, the green shoots of recovery are definitely there. The Argentinian could yet oversee a better end to the season than the beginning, and give Todd Boehly more than enough reason not to sack him and start the entire process of building something worthwhile again.
Key to Chelsea’s development is the purchase of a proven striker, and to that end, Football Insider (h/t Fichajes) have noted that Chelsea could make a surprise move for former Tottenham ace, Harry Kane.
The world class England front man has bagged 29 goals in 30 games for Bayern Munich and provided eight assists, but according to the outlet, is dissatisfied with life in Bavaria.
Kane worked incredibly well with Pochettino when the pair were together at White Hart Lane, and a reunion would almost certainly work wonders for the Blues goals output.
It’s unlikely he would come cheaply, however, and is perhaps older than the West Londoners would like, however, if he becomes available, then Chelsea have to be in that conversation.
