Reports have claimed that Chelsea have just had scouts attend a game of one player who has been frequently mentioned as a top transfer target for them.
According to HITC and insider Graeme Bailey, the Blues have had people in attendance to watch Victor Osimhen earlier this week when Napoli faced Sassuolo in Serie A.It has been widely claimed that Osimhen remains at the top of their list for a potential addition up front when this season comes to an end.
This comes after a year of being reported to be keen on the deal, and not having brought in a top-class striker in that time.
It has now been claimed that they had scouts in attendance as Napoli picked up a big 6-1 win on Wednesday night.
Chelsea send scouts to watch Osimhen
They will have been extremely delighted with what they saw, as the Nigerian international struck three times away from home.
It remains to be seen if the Blues make a move for Osimhen, who they are going to need to spend north of £100m for if they are to meet his release clause from the contract he signed earlier this season.
It feels as if their long-term ambitions are in the 25-year-old, even if his recent performances at the African Cup of Nations will have done little to boost his stock.
If they were to look elsewhere, it is likely that they may consider the striker in Europe who has the most goal contributions so far.
Viktor Gyokeres has had an insane season at Sporting Lisbon under the management of Ruben Amorim, with the manager another figure who the club are reportedly keeping an eye on.
It has also been reported that Chelsea will have scouts in place for tonight’s game between Sporting and Benfica, where it is likely they will have an eye on the Swedish striker.
