Chelsea goalkeeper Eddie Beach will spend the remainder of the season on loan at National League side Gateshead.
As reported in the summer, Chelsea had a plan to keep Beach in and around the senior squad for the first part of the season and would then re-evaluate his options in the January transfer window. With the form of Djordje Petrovic since Robert Sanchez picked up a knee injury, it has made it much more difficult for Beach to even get a sniff under Pochettino.CHELSEA posted: ‘Beach featured regularly for our Under-21s during the first half of the campaign – and was also on the substitutes’ bench for our first team Premier League fixtures against Luton Town and Brentford.
‘The 20-year-old joined the Blues from Southampton in the summer of 2023 and spent time on loan last season at National League South club Chelmsford City.
‘Gateshead currently sit 8th in the National League, just a point outside the play-off positions.
‘Good luck, Eddie!’
The lad is a serious talent that has the potential to become very decent stopper in the future – but it was always going to bee difficult to make it at Stamford Bridge as Goalkeeper.
Gateshead may not be the move that he had hoped for – but it is a very good chance for him to get some much needed minutes on the pitch and maybe impress a few clubs for the upcoming summer window.
The lad is happy – Gateshead are happy – this is a good move for the man to make.
