Todd Boehly makes second attempt to sign fantastic player for Chelsea

Reports have claimed that Chelsea are now making an effort to sign one player from the Championship.

According to TeamTalk, the Blues are keen to sign Jobe Bellingham, with them previously making an effort to bring him in since Todd Boehly has been in charge.

Boehly has not made it a secret that he is keen to bring in a number of young stars in an attempt to beat fellow elite sides to a deal.

One player they have attempted to sign in the past is Bellingham, who is currently plying his trade for Sunderland in the second flight of English football.

He has been heavily praised for his performances this season, being described as ‘fantastic’ by Sunderland interim manager Mike Dodds.

Chelsea are no strangers to the Bellingham family, with the club looking to put themselves in the battle over the summer to sign Jude from Borussia Dortmund.

Chelsea in for Bellingham

However, he ended up at Real Madrid, where his game has gone from strength to strength in a more advanced position this season.

The report has claimed that Boehly was interested in bringing the pair to Stamford Bridge at the same time, however that has clearly not come to fruition.

Now though, they are preparing to rival Real Madrid for the signing of the younger of the two brothers.

Chelsea’s number one target in the upcoming transfer window is a striker who will regularly be able to put the ball in the net.

They will have noted that Victor Osimhen is reportedly about to sign a new contract, which will involve a hefty release clause that the Blues are only really able to activate in the summer.

This could see them look elsewhere next month, with there being links to either Viktor Gykores or Ivan Toney as potential other options.
