Pochettino's Sack: Chelsea manager sends urgent message to board amid pressure

Mauricio Pochettino has fired a clear warning to his Chelsea squad after the Blues lost their third away match on the bounce at Goodison Park against Everton on Sunday afternoon

If it was not already, it certainly feels as if the pressure is massively on Mauricio Pochettino right now. A third straight defeat away from home for Chelsea has left plenty of Blues supporters wanting something to be done about the managerial situation.

Chelsea were bullied at Everton on Sunday afternoon. The Toffees simply overpowered the visitors. While improving from their display against Manchester United, their seventh defeat of the Premier League season means they sit down in 12th-place.

Going into the international break, there were some that thought the tide may have turned at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea had beaten rivals Tottenham 4-1 away from home and went toe-to-toe with champions Manchester City to draw in an eight-goal thriller in west London.

Pochettino, when returning from the international break, was in a really great mood. His mindset was very positive but since then, they have managed to earn just three points from a possible 12 in the Premier League and the calls for him to be sacked have got even louder.

Now, the Argentine has sent a huge warning to the players out there on Merseyside. Pochettino said the club will address their "problem" in the January transfer market.

"This was a game to play and to win," Pochettino said in a radio interview after the defeat at Goodison Park. "It is a problem we need to check. We need to analyse. We need to talk and to try and improve in the next transfer market."

The Chelsea boss was then asked about those comments during his post-match press conference. He said: "It's about to improve, to assist.

"We had chances today but we need to score if we want to win the game and be in a different position in the table. We were much better than them but we need to score otherwise the confidence of the opponent [grows].
