He's Back: Good news as Chelsea star arrives ahead Carabao Cup game against Newcastle

Chelsea have now published their latest injury update ahead of their return to action in the EFL Cup tomorrow night .

The regular piece posted on the club website shows winger Noni Madueke has returned to full team training, after being unavailable in recent weeks due to injury.

This season has been a really difficult one for Madueke as he has struggled to secure himself any regular gametime at Stamford Bridge.

In what has been the story of his time at Chelsea really since his £30m move back in January, appearances have been sparce and normally off the bench.

Injuries and various other reasons have limited him to just one start in the league, and a grand total of three minutes played since October.

Mauricio Pochettino made it publically known that he had not been impressed with some off-field antics earlier this campaign, which saw the Englishman dropped despite not being injured.

Madueke back in full training

While he reportedly became a model trainer following this incident, it has so far not ended up in a boost in minutes on the pitch.

Tomorrow does pose a good opportunity for Madueke due to fixtures continuing to stack up and rotation perhaps being considered.

The EFL Cup is currently Chelsea’s best chance at silverware this season, with Mauricio Pochettino clearly looking to add a trophy to the club’s illustrious cabinet.

Therefore, he could be looking to deploy the best team he has possible for the visit of Newcastle United, and the chance at getting revenge for their exploits against them in the league a few weeks earlier.

They were heavily beaten at St. James’ Park, with Reece James seeing him sent off just before he was about to suffer an injury that will see him spend another lengthy spell on the sidelines.
