Cole Palmer played the hero on Sunday as Chelsea twice came from behind to draw 4-4 against Premier League leaders Manchester City at Stamford Bridge.
And it seemed only too fitting that it was Pep Guardiola's old charge who stepped up in the 95th minute to convert a penalty with aplomb. Mauricio Pochettino's side continued their recent rise in form with a share of the spoils against last season's treble-winners, and Blues fans could hardly contain their excitement.
"Oh my oh my, Chelsea might've woken up fellas," warned one Blues fan on X, formerly Twitter, after Palmer converted from the spot in the 95th minute. And that equaliser came after Rodri thought he had won a blistering eight-goal affair nine minutes prior.
"Chelsea might be back," wrote another supporter in agreement, with the west Londoners impressing with back-to-back league wins. Many admirers noted the fact Pochettino's men have produced four goals apiece in back-to-back games against City and former leaders Tottenham, albeit playing with a two-man advantage against the latter.
Sky Sports pundit and former Man City defender Micah Richards commented after the match that he can 'see what Chelsea are trying to do' with their tactics following this latest impressive performance. And that's more than fans have been able to say of the team for some time.

One point against City is enough to take Chelsea into the top half of the Premier League, level on points with Brentford but ahead on goal difference. That's despite losing 2-0 at home to the Bees just a fortnight ago.
Sunday's result also brought to an end City's streak of six successive wins over Chelsea in all competitions. The last time the Blues avoided defeat against Guardiola & Co was in the 2021 Champions League final in Porto.

And Palmer has immediately made his mark in this fixture, as did fellow summer arrival Nicolas Jackson having converted Chelsea's third. Thiago Silva and Raheem Sterling netted the other two goals to put the hosts ahead following Erling Haaland's opener.
The Norwegian superstar scored twice and assisted another in west London to steer his side within inches of a hard-fought win at the Bridge. However, even Haaland's heroics weren't enough to spoil the parade of a Chelsea team that's finally looking more like its old self.
