Chelsea have been tipped to make a shock move for former Man United star David De Gea
de Gea announced he was leaving Manchester United as a free agent after 12 seasons at Old Trafford after failing to agree a new contract with the Red Devils as they started looking to the future. That led to some shock reports in the media that Chelsea were very much open to the idea of handing the Spanish stopper a contract as they sought to add a goalkeeper to the side after letting Edouard Mendy depart.
However – CHELSEA made the decision to sign Robert Sanchez from Brighton and then add Djorde Petrovic to the side, which has shocked many people out there as there was some quality stoppers on the market this summer.
But there is still some talk that the board may give De Gea a chance in the side as he is still a free agent, and they have now been tipped to try and secure a move for the Spanish star.
With this in mind, and the 16/1 odds it would be a surprise to see the former United shot stopper arrive at Stamford Bridge, and with his former club being the most likely destination for De Gea at 5/6, De Gea’s unemployment won’t last long.
De Gea is only 32 years of age and still has something to offer, so we are shocked to see that he has yet to find a new club, he is still a world class stopper that is better than most in the Premier League.
If CHELSEA are not quite sure about what they have at the club, then a move for De Gea may be a very good decision to make, even for just 12 months, he would offer so much to the side.
We are sure that De Gea will get a new club soon, he is far too good to just be training on his own for the next few months.
