The return of Christopher Nkunku will feel like a new signing for Chelsea, fans have been told.
After months of speculation and rumours, Chelsea managed to bring Nkunku to the club over the course of the summer window after fending off alot of clubs last January to secure a transfer deal. The Frenchman was one of the sttement signings for that CHELSEA board over the summer, but he has been unable to make any sort of impact as he has been out with injury, and Blues boss Mauricio Pochettino will be eager to get him back and in his starting line-up.
Now, Journalist Ben Jacobs believes Nkunku will feel like a new signing for Chelsea when he finally does come back in, and he expects him to make a very positive and good impact.
“Chelsea have got players who are capable of scoring goals regularly, and the win against Burnley was a good example of that in many ways.
“Raheem Sterling was outstanding. Nicolas Jackson came off the bench and scored. Armando Broja was fit to start the game and, even though he didn’t score, he isanother option for Pochettino. It all looks a little bit healthier.
“When you add Nkunku to the mix, Chelsea suddenly have got a little bit of depth and quality. Nkunku is going to feel like a brand new signing to Chelsea.
‘He is effectively a brand new signing for Chelsea because he picked up his injury so early and in the pre-season period.”
CHELSEA worked so hard to get a deal done for Nkunku and he still has not kicked a competitive football for the club, but when he is back to his best he can be a 20 goal a season player.
He will need time to adjust, but Blues fans are hoping that he is one signing that can make a real difference in the side.
