In a report by FootballFancast quoting Fabrizio Romano’s daily briefing on CaughtOffiside, he has revealed that Chelsea beat the likes of Bayern Munich and Manchester United in the race for Kendry Paez.
The talented Colombian attacking midfielder is only 16 years old, and Chelsea feel that he is already doubled in value, according to Romano.
Romano said: “Paez will move to Stamford Bridge in 2025, with Chelsea winning the race for his signature earlier this year when other big clubs like Manchester United and Bayern Munich were also interested in him. The Blues also increasingly feel that they got an absolute bargain for the teenage midfielder, whose value has probably already shot up since they agreed the package for him”Paez became the youngest Ecuadorian in history to feature in the first team recently and even scored, assisted by none other than Moises Caicedo.
Chelsea’s recruitment team have shown a keen eye for young talent and this particular deal looks extremely exciting, although it will be quite some wait still for fans to see Paez at Stamford Bridge, with the earliest possible date for his debut in blue around mid 2025.
In any case, Chelsea clearly found a future superstar and arrived early to the party, and this is yet another deal where the negotiations behind the scenes have clearly been quick and effective.
