Chelsea have been dealt double injury blow after Mauricio Pochettino revealed that Mykhailo Mudryk and Enzo Fernandez are the latest to be sidelined.
Both players did not make Chelsea squad for Saturday’s home clash with Brentford.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano,
Pochettino said Murdyk and Fernandez suffered muscle injuries in training on Friday.
Pochettino said the coaching crew decided against including the duo for the game against Brentford in order not to aggravate the injuries.
“Enzo and Mudryk felt something in training yesterday, small muscle injuries for them both,” the Argentine coach was quoted on Romano’s X handle.
“We hoped they would be okay to be in the squad but they aren’t quite ready. We didn’t want to take risks.”
This is another huge blow for Chelsea who are already without seven players.
New signings Christopher Nkunku and Romeo Lavia are yet to make their first appearance for Chelsea.
Also, Carney Chukwuemeka, Ben Chilwell, Armando Broja, Trevoh Chalobah, and Wesley Fofana are all out.
