Official Done Deals, Chelsea ready £100m for the signing of a world-class player
Chelsea are prepared to bid £100million for their top priority transfer target Victor Osimhen, according to latest news.
Blues boss Graham Potter is keen to add more firepower and goals to his side, and wants a natural centre-forward to be signed in the summer.
Napoli value Osimhen at around £100million and will hold out for nine-figure bids in order to let go of their star striker. Chelsea are aware that they are unlikely to qualify for the Champions League next season which could make negotiations harder with Osimhen, but the London club are prepared to flex their financial muscle and enter a bidding war for the 24-year-old to give themselves the best chance of signing him.
Chelsea Star Signs New Contract
Chelsea star Marcus Bettinelli has signed a new deal with the Blues until the summer of 2026. The 30-year-old plays back up to Kepa Arrizabalaga and Edouard Mendy and has only featured once for Chelsea.
The stand-in stopper, who joined Chelsea from neighbours Fulham in 2021, said: “It is a privilege to be at a club like Chelsea, one of the biggest clubs in the world, and a couple of years ago when I signed I was delighted to be here, delighted to sign. To be here now and see the club going through this transition and seeing what we are developing, it is amazing to be a part of and I am buzzing to be here for an extra couple of years.”
Chelsea on the verge of offloading multiple players in the summer
According to reports from England, Chelsea is plotting a massive clearout at the club to meet the Financial Fair Play regulations and also cover the losses incurred in the Todd Boehly era. The Times has reported that Chelsea has faced a mammoth loss of £121 million ($149m) and could look to offload the likes of Conor Gallagher, Mason Mount, and others to balance their finances.
The current owner continues to blame former owner Roman Abramovich for these losses. During the reign of Abramovich, the Blues were sanctioned with a ban restricting them from selling tickets, merchandise, or even sign new players amidst Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
