Marina Granovskaia to bring sharp attacker to Chelsea in a swap deal
Chelsea have been linked with an audacious swoop for Bayern Munich winger Leroy Sane after a difficult first season in Germany.
Despite an excellent start to the campaign, the Blues are looking to strengthen their already talented frontline and the 25-year-old is reportedly on their radar, as per the Daily Express.
Sane has scored 11 times in 49 appearances since completing his dream move to Bavaria and could be set to depart with a whole host of clubs supposedly interested.
Arsenal, Leicester City and Tottenham Hotspur are among those linked as Julian Nagelsman tries to get the best out of Sane before the January transfer window opens.
The Blues could have the upper edge, though, as they can offer Champions League football and are set to push hard for the Premier League title this season.
This move would further emphasise the ambition shown by Thomas Tuchel, who has already delivered the Champions League and Super Cup trophies in his nine months in charge.
Should the deal go through then Chelsea would surely have to sell one of their attacking players and Callum Hudson-Odoi has been named as someone who could make way.
Bayern have previously shown interest and Bundesliga rivals Borrusia Dortmund were heavily linked with the youngster this summer.
He hasn’t played a single minute so far in 2021/22, but Reece James’ sending off at Liverpool could see Hudson-Odoi get more minutes in the coming weeks.
Another player in a difficult situation is Hakim Ziyech, who hasn’t been able to cement a regular spot in the Blues line-up, playing either as a number 10 or a winger.
Nagelsman could do with someone who has the talent and the skillset that the Moroccan possesses after they failed to bring in Jonas Hoffman.
Christian Pulisic is another who has struggled for regular game time since Tuchel was appointed, starting just 15 times in all competitions.
The American has proved he can perform in the German top tier and could be the perfect replacement for Sane should he move the opposite way.
Having impressed at City before he suffered a knee injury, Sane, at one point, was one of Europe’s best young attacking talents.
He scored 39 goals in his first three full seasons at the Etihad Stadium, showing moments of brilliance and would be an astute signing for the Blues.
It would, however, be a difficult move to maneuver, as Sane still has four years left on his current contract and Bayern, historically, rarely sell in January.
