Chelsea signing Saul Niguez could create new problem for Thomas Tuchel’s best midfielder

Chelsea completed the signing of Saul Niguez from Atletico Madrid last night on a season long loan with an option to buy for a fee around €35m next season.

The Spaniard won the La Liga title with Atletico Madrid last season before making a transfer deadline day switch to Chelsea last night.

Saul’s arrival will surely be a competition for Chelsea’s most trusted midfielder N’golo Kante and the Spaniard could send the former Leicester City midfielder to the bench.Saul have a lot of experiences to his name already since ga started playing for Atletico Madrid. The 26 years old Spanish International had more shots on targets the Chelsea’s three midfielders (Kante, Kovacic, Jorginho) combined last season.

His versatility and strength in midfield could be a big problem for the ageing N’golo Kante and if Chelsea retains his services next season, it could be the end of the line for Kante.
