UEFA celebrates Chelsea star player after making history in Europe
Chelsea football club of England midfield maestro, Jorginho was in action yesterday for Italy in the finals of the just concluded Euro 2020 campaign against England at the Wembley Stadium.
Jorginho in the game retained his spot in the starting XI as he was given a role to play following his outstanding performance for the team in their previous game.
The midfield enigma was yet again exceptional as he bossed up the heart of the centre-field with his great influx of performance which was instrumental in the crucial win for the Azzurri.The game between the two sides was very thrilling and entertaining with nothing separating them at full time before been decided via penalty shoot-out.
Luke Shaw opened the scoring sheet in the 2nd minutes by giving England the lead to make it one nil at half time.
In the second half of the game, Leonardo Bonnuci scored an equaliser for Italy by leveling up in the 67th minutes to make it 1-1 at full time.With the game been taken to the extra time, Italy emerged as the winner on penalty with a three goals to two scoreline.
Consequent to winning the Euro 2020, European football governing body known as UEFA has reacted with a post via their verified twitter handle to commend Jorginho as he becomes the 10th player in history to win Champions League/Euro double in the same year.This as such means Chelsea’s duo, Jorginho and Emerson Palmieri have now won the European title both for club and country this year.
