Chelsea to announce £86m signing for top European striker

With the Euro 2020 tournament still ongoing, clubs around Europe especially Chelsea are busy making up their transfer wish-list ahead of the upcoming Premier League season.

The Blues were crowned Champions of Europe after defeating Manchester City 1-0 in the UEFA Champions League finals last campaign, and coach Thomas Tuchel will be keen to improve his side in order to compete at the highest level when the clubs competition kicks off.

Chelsea are still in the transfer market for a striker despite having the likes of Timo Werner, Olivier Giroud and Tammy Abraham at the club.

The West London club have been linked with some big names in the transfer window, including Borussia Dortmund’s forward Erling Haaland, West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice and Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane.Chelsea have reignite their interest in signing West Ham’s Declan Rice this summer following a failed move last summer when former boss Frank Lampard was still in charge at Stamford Bridge.

However, Erling Braut Haaland has become a top priority the club’s transfer wish-list, and the Blues are ready to break their transfer record in order secure the Norwegian’s signature this summer. In a bid to do that, Chelsea will have to release a number of players from the club in order to accelerate moves for the above mentioned names.

Midfielder Billy Gilmour has already joined Norwich City on a loan deal for the 2021/22 season, and more players are also expected to leave.According to the Daily Mail, Chelsea could decide to sell Ross Barkley, Olivier Giroud, Kepa Arizzabalaga and Tammy Abraham in the coming weeks.

The Premier League giants are believed to be looking to raise as much as £86million from the sale of the listed players, with Tammy Abraham set to move to Aston Villa for a claimed fee of £40million.The Dortmund striker is also on Real Madrid’s radar but Chelsea are willing to fight for his signature.
