Chelsea have now taken over in the race to sign Arsenal star target

Thomas Tuchel is keen on having a squad overhaul as he wants to improve on the performance of his team this season.

Chelsea are now interested in signing Brighton’s Ben White, according to journalist Duncan Castles.

The 23-year-old has been heavily linked with the move to Arsenal for the summer transfer window, while now Castles claims the Blues have also joined the race for the defender.

“My understanding is that this week they (Arsenal) have improved their offer, increased the initial down payment and made the schedule of the payments over the course of the contract more attractive to Brighton. But as yet there is not an agreement between the two clubs on the transfer fee,” journalist said on The Transfer Window podcast, as transcribed by The Expressed.

Then he added: “We’ve told you there’s been interest and a conversation with Manchester City. I now understand that Chelsea have notified the player of their interest in signing him.”
