Wednesday 11pm done deals: Chelsea and Liverpool complete official signings
Newcastle have secured the signing of two youngsters Charlie Wiggett and Remi Savage – from Chelsea and Liverpool. Both youngsters are central defenders and will link up with the Magpies U23s. Charlie and Remi are not the only youngsters – that was announced – by the Premier League club. Newcastle also announced the signing of Cameron Ferguson.
Born in Reading, Wiggett joined the Magpies from Chelsea. The 18-year-old signed his professional contract with Chelsea in the summer of 2019. He joined Chelsea from Swindon Town.
Remi Savage joined the Magpies from his boyhood club, Liverpool. The Nigerian descent defender arrived at Liverpool aged five and made his debut for the U18s in the 2017/2018 season – under Steven Gerrard.
A versatile defender – Remi was part of the Reds’ FA Youth Cup-winning squad. He signed his first professional contract with Liverpool in the summer of 2020.
Cameron Ferguson joined Newcastle from Tranmere Rover. He is the son of ex-Newcastle striker Duncan.
After a successful trial, Newcastle decided to sign him, and he appreciated the coaches for their efforts.
“When I got told they were going to sign me, I was made up. The coaches have been excellent with me so far, and everyone’s been helping me so much, so I can’t wait to get started. The youngster hopes he can make an impact at the Premier League club.
“Hopefully, I can make an impact; the club have put a lot of belief in me, and I want to work my hardest and do my best for the team and the club.
