Chelsea news includes fan reaction to Saturday’s Euro 2020 action between Denmark and Wales where a certain wing-back caught the eye in a 4-0 win for the Danes

Chelsea will have to look for alternatives at right-wing back this summer with Paris Saint-Germain closing in on a deal to sign Achraf Hakimi.

Reports over the weekend claimed that the Blues have ended their interest in the Morocco international as he is bound to link up with former Tottenham head coach Mauricio Pochettino in Paris.

Hakimi has reportedly agreed personal terms on a five-year deal with the French giants, with only the transfer fee itself in need of ironing out.

So who can Chelsea turn to next as Thomas Tuchel looks to bolster a squad that lifted the Champions League last season?

Well, as reported several weeks ago, the German is a big fan of Wolverhampton Wanderers star Adama Traore, meaning the Spaniard could be the perfect alternative to Hakimi.

However, Atalanta’s Joakim Maehle is a name that has been discussed by some Chelsea supporters on Reddit.

The wing-back has impressed at Euro 2020 for Denmark, scoring his second goal of the tournament in Saturday’s 4-0 thrashing of Wales at the last-16 stage.

As per the CIES Football Observatory, Maehle has an estimated transfer value of between €20m-€30m (£17m-£25m) meaning he would be a considerably cheaper alternative to Hakimi who could cost PSG in the region of £70m.

But some Blues fans have warned club director Marina Granovskaia about potentially pursuing a deal for Maehle and for good reason.
