After winning Champions League, Chelsea star’s goal could win Euro 2020 goal of the tournament
The 2020 Euros Championship continued today as four matches were played today. The final fixtures of Group B and C have been completed with Netherlands, Austria, Belgium and Denmark all qualifying for the knockout stage of the competition.
In the final matches of Group C, Netherlands thrashed North Macedonia 3-0 with a goal from Memphis Depay and a double by Georginio Wijnaldum securing all three points for the Netherlands. Austria cruised to a narrow win against Ukraine today as a 21st-minute goal by Christoph Baumgartner gave Austrians all three points.
In the final matches of Group B, Belgium thrashed Finland 2-0 as Romelu Lukaku and Kevin De Bruyne combining well to gift the Belgian Red Devils all three points today.
The biggest news of the day is the miraculous qualification of the Denmark national team into the knockout stage of the competition. However, the Danish never gave up as they defeated Ukraine 4-1 to miraculously progress to the next round of the competition. Goals from Mikkel Damsgaard, Yussuf Poulsen, Andreas Christensen and Joakim Maehle were enough to give Denmark the crucial win.(Photo credit: Euros 2020 FB page)
It was the impressive performance of Chelsea defender, Andreas Christensen that kept Denmark alive as he did his defensive work well to prevent Ukraine from scoring more goals in the game.
