A large section of Chelsea supporters on social media was adamant that Hakim Ziyech should not be sold this summer.
According to Calciomercato, the Blues have not completely extinguished the idea of selling Ziyech in the next transfer window.
Napoli are said to be most interested should the Moroccan become available.
The majority of Blues fans did not take to this news kindly and showed solidarity towards Ziyech staying for another season.
It’s been less than a year since Ziyech officially joined up with the Chelsea squad, following his £33.3m (Sky Sports) move from Ajax.
Although his debut campaign was far from ground breaking, it wasn’t without its moments of marvel.
He scored in Premier League and FA Cup wins over Manchester City and he put the Blues on their way to victory against Atletico Madrid in the second leg of their Champions League tie.
There was a fine league performance away to Burnley – the only occasion the 28-year-old both scored and assisted in one match.
For Chelsea to turn 180 degrees and to let him leave almost instantly after his arrival would be a surprise.
Roman Abramovich is always keen for his purchases to be viewed as investments, rather than wasted assets.
Ziyech has a full pre-season this time to prepare for round two, with his last disrupted by a knee injury.

Can we try to squash this report as quickly as possible?
I am a big admirer of Ziyech and have been since he burst onto our TV screens during Ajax’s European adventure.
Without doubt there is still a magnificent player just waiting to erupt, he just hasn’t been given the tools to do so.
Hopefully, Thomas Tuchel can fully unlock Ziyech’s abilities. Chelsea will be a scary proposition if he is able to that.
