They’re coming home, Tuchel adding five star players to his squad this summer

With the 2020/21 season now over, several clubs have already started to make plans for their squad in order to strengthen in areas where needed. There have been many news making the rounds about big clubs that have identified their targets for the summer and a few have already started recruiting players.

For Chelsea who just won the UEFA Champions League, it has been reported that they are looking at some of their loan stars to join their main squad for next season.Recall that the cut squad at Stamford Bridge is one which was inherited by Thomas Tuchel when he replaced Frank Lampard as the head coach of Chelsea. Following the conclusion of his first season, it is now time for the German tactician to mould the squad to his preference in this forthcoming transfer window.

However, there have been reports that the club are planning to examine five of their loan stars who impressed for their clubs during the season. The players include Armando Broja, Conor Gallagher, Marc Guehi, Ethan Ampadu and Malang Sarr.

According to the reports, those five players will be looked at during Tuchel’s first pre-season with Chelsea, after which it will be decided if they join up with the first team. It was also revealed that Ruben Loftus Cheek will “likely” be leaving on another loan deal.

Meet The 5 Players

1. Armando Broja

Broja, 19, is a center forward from Albania who played for Vitesse Arnhem in the Netherlands this season. He scored a total of ten goals and provided a further two assists in his 30 games for them throughout the season.He could come in as a replacement for Giroud and Tammy Abraham who are almost certain to be leaving Stamford Bridge this summer.

2. Conor Gallagher

Gallagher, 20, is a central midfielder who can also play behind the striker as an attacking midfielder. He is from England and represented West Bromwich Albion in the Premier League for this season.He was given a major role in their team immediately he moved there and played most of their EPL matches. Even though they got relegated, the youngster produced a string of impressive performances which prove that he is ready for first team football at Chelsea.

3. Marc Guehi

The 20 year defender was born in Ivory Coast, Africa but has represented England at several youth levels and is eligible to play for their senior national team. For this season, he was loaned out to Swansea City in the Championship and he was impressive for them throughout.He produced solid performances for them in the Championship and FA Cup, including a stellar display against Manchester City. He played 40 matches for them and helped them to achieve 20 clean sheets which was the highest by any team this season.

Guehi almost helped his team to gain promotion back into the Premier League as they finished in the playoff places. He was awarded Man of the Match in both legs of their semi final but they missed out on qualification after losing the final to Brentford.

The Center back position is one area where his parent club need options and Guehi could be counted on next season to provide depth in that area.

4. Ethan Ampadu

Ampadu, 20, is a versatile player who can play at center back or as a defensive midfielder. He is from Wales and spent the whole of the season at Sheffield United in the Premier League. He is one of the youngsters who many will feel is supposed to have had his chance with the first team even before now.Ampadu could do nothing to stop his team from getting relegated into the Championship, however he played a chunk of their matches which will surely have added to his experience as a Premier League professional.

Adding him to the Chelsea squad will only strengthen the team further, as they aim to challenge for titles on all fronts next season.

5. Malang Sarr

Sarr, 22, is a French professional who plays as a Centre back but can also play Left back. The young defender was signed as a free agent by Chelsea last summer but was immediately sent out on loan to Porto to get regular playing time. He was involved in good number of games for the Portuguese side, especially in the UEFA Champions League where he played a total of six matches.He was even a part of the squad which knocked out Christiano Ronaldo’s Juventus after both legs in the round of 16.

Sarr was a regular starter for his former club in France (Nice) and has always been seen as one of the future stars in the game. He could just be joining the first team at Stamford Bridge to add to their defensive ranks.
