Declan Rice prefers to join Chelsea

West Ham midfielder Declan Rice has continued to be linked with a move away from the London Stadium to his favorite club.

West Ham value Rice at around £80million and may be forced to sell if the player – who has Champions League aspirations – pushes for a move.

The midfielder was born in the capital of England and spent eight years in Chelsea’s academy.

He joined West Ham’s youth setup in 2014 and has since made 128 appearances for the first team.

Rice has performed well again this season, helping David Moyes’ side to a comfortable position in mid-table.

He’s worn no.41 for West Ham ever since breaking into the first-team picture, but for the national team he wore no.5 and no.8 during the most recent international break.

Rice would have better luck with the no.41 shirt as it’s a squad number that is not usually worn by a first-team player at Chelsea.

West Ham have been credited with a recent interest in Abraham due to their dearth of strikers after the departure of Sebastien Haller. The Chelsea striker has hardly been used by Tuchel despite being fit and could see his future elsewhere.
