Thomas Tuchel fires warning to any team after beating Atletico Madrid in Champions League
After Chelsea beat Atletico Madrid by two goals to nothing in the second leg of their round of 16 clash at Stamford Bridge, the manager of the team has a word for any opponent.
Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel is insisting that his Chelsea side has nothing to be afraid of, especially after they breeze past current LaLiga Leaders Atletico Madrid in a much anticipated Champions league second-round tie.
The Match which ended 2-0 in favor of Chelsea will mean Chelsea is now 13 matches unbeaten in all competitions since Thomas Tuchel replaces Frank Lampard as Chelsea Coach.
Speaking at the post-match interview, Tuchel maintained that Europes Elite teams will be wary of Chelsea and will do many things just to avoid the Blues in Friday’s Champions League draw, especially giving that they beat Atletico with ease and convincingly.
Tuchel is quoted saying, ‘They play with a special bond and that gives you an edge. I’m sure no one will want to play against us and there’s no need for us to be afraid.’
‘The feel that we deserve this win is very important for us. It was a very great performance tonight, and an incredible team effort from the Lads on the pitch and the bench and there in the stands, you could feel we wanted it – we scale through well deserved.’
Goals from Hakimi Ziyech and Emerson ensure that the Blues progress on a 3-0 aggregate to the quarter-finals, having won 1-0 in the earlier fixtures, courtesy Of an Olivier Giroud overhead stunner. This result means that Chelsea will join fellow EPL teams Mancity and Liverpool in the quarter-finals. And despite the Ingenuity of the teams in the thequarter-finally, Tuchel still feels that Chelsea has already made a bold statement.
Do you honestly think European giants like Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Liverpool, and Mancity should panic at the sight of Chelsea? I honestly do not think so, I think it is still too early to brag. What do you think out there, let us know your thought in the comment section below?
