Four Chelsea players could face UEFA ban against Atletico Madrid
As Chelsea set to face Atletico Madrid in the UEFA champions League in the knock out stage as both teams are looking for quarter final qualification.
Chelsea’s coach Tuchel will have to advise his players to play with caution against Athletico madrid on tuesday.
Hakim ziyech, mason mount, jorginho and mateo kovacic are all one yellow card away from suspension.
Uefa rules states that 3 yellow cards in the competition equals a one game suspension, which simply means that if they were to b booked against Athletico Madrid on Tuesday, they won’t play the second-leg tie.
The four players picked up two bookings each during the group stage of the competition, it means that if they are selected by Tuchel tonight, they will need to play with absolute caution to avoid getting banned.
The blues won 4 of their group stage matches and drew 2 that saw them to this round of 16 tie.
Meanwhile, Athletico won only two of their group games, drew 3 and lost just one, which was a 4-0 defeat by Bayern Munich.
